Luck of the Irish

Every year for St. Patrick's Day the "Leprechauns" come while the kids are sleeping and leave little foot prints and kisses (that just happen to look a lot like green marker marks) all over the kids.  The kids LOVE to see where they got kissed and talk about what the Leprechauns were doing.  The Leprechauns also hide one of their shoes and fill it with gold treats. Well this year, it was all THE Leprechaun could do to stay up long enough to sneak in the kids room after they were all asleep and leave the kisses and footprints.  The Leprechaun forgot to hide the shoes. In the morning while Chad and I were making Lucy's b-day breakfast Jack and Marian were looking and looking for hidden shoes ...that weren't hidden.  Chad tried to cover for the Leprechaun and told the kids to look all over upstairs.  While they were up there the Leprechaun quickly dumped the candy into shoes and hid them on the main floor and threw the empty candy bag in the garbage can.  The Leprechaun was saved...until Marian put her candy wrappers in the garbage and saw the candy bag.  She picked it up stared at it for a minute, then put it back in the garbage and walked away seemingly un-phased.  Chad and I let out a sigh of relief...and then took the bag and hid it out of sight.  A few minutes later Marian said,

"You know, I just saw an empty candy bag in the garbage   I don't think the Leprechauns really bring us gold.
busted!

I think you guys buy the gold and give it to the Leprechauns so they can hide it in our shoes.

saved!
