Sub 2 baby!
If I were the tattooing kind (which I totally am not).... I think a little butterfly with the numbers 1:57 underneath would look awesome on the back of my shoulder. Thanks for all the calls, texts, and emails with good wishes for my race! A BIG thank you to Chad for taking the kids all weekend while I went up to New Hampshire for the race. My goal had been to come in under 2 hours and I dragged my tired, sorry little self across the finish line with a time of 1 hour 57 minutes! I had mixed reactions as I crossed the finish line. I had hit what runners call "the wall" at about mile 11. I wasn't in pain- nothing was hurting...at least not more than usual but I was just done. I was tired and mentally beat. But thanks to my dear friend Brianne I had this awesome watch that would beep at me any time I went slower than my goal pace. It kept me on track and I knew that my goal was within reach and I would never forgive myself if I threw it away in the end. So I stuck with it (I would be lying if I said I didn't walk through the last 2 water stations) but walking break or not...I beat my goal! Chad was super proud and excited...I think he was slightly more excited knowing that my Saturday long runs had finally come to a close. He has been a pretty good sport through all of this. Thanks babes! Well, 10yrs, a husband and three kids later and I finally got my sub 2 hour half! Now what?
