Happy Birthday Jack!

Today was my 1st baby’s 6th birthday. I’ll admit that I’ve cried more than once about this. I cried up when we measured him against the wall and saw he’d grown more than 3 inches since last year. I cried when I set out a few of his baby pictures for a Birthday decoration. Cutest baby boy ever. I’m talking Lucy cute…in blue. I cry inside every time I think about him going off to Kindergarten in September (he’s going to love it and it will be awesome…but it still makes me sad). And I cried a little when he tore off on his new bike today proud and as confident as ever! Jack was my life when we moved here to Boston and he still is today. There are so many things I l adore about this boy…just as a glimpse I will give you 10.
  1. He is a charmer. When he decides to put on the charm he can have the full attention of librarians, people at the grocery store, and the postal workers (to name a few) in the palm of his hand. Just last week he charmed the woman at the seafood counter into letting him pet the lobsters from the lobster tank.
  2. He loves music the same way I do. He loves listening to songs over and over again and he has amazing pitch (not like me…luckily!)
  3. He loves learning. Maps, words, the human psyche…he wants to understand it all!
  4. He is fast. Sounds silly but I love watching that boy run.
  5. He loves crafts. He creates the most amazing things all on his own.
  6. He has a good heart. He FOR SURE has his little boy moments but his heart is all good. He hurts for people who are sad and has a strong desire to make things better for others.
  7. He lives life at 100%. If he is happy, he is 100% happy. If he is mad, he is 100% mad! I love that.
  8. He has the pure faith. Frequently he will tell me how Heavenly Father answered a pray he offered…that I didn’t even know about. If I am sad or frustrated about something…Jack is quick to tell me to pray about it. Being around him strengthens my faith in the scripture that admonishes us to “become as a little child.”
  9. He is a lover of fruit. Literally… I can bribe the child with grapes.
  10. He makes life so much fun. He absolutely has this light about him that makes you feel good. A friend once told me she loved when Jack was in her house because he was so full of life he made her feel happy!
I couldn’t agree more! Jack you have been a blessing in my life since the day I first knew I was going to be a mom! I love you with all my heart.  Happy Birthday!
