Back to school!

I read this quote by Alice Walker that says,

  • “Time moves slowly but passes quickly.”
  • Isn't that the truth!  This has been one of the busiest and heaviest (happy, but heavy) summers of my life, so the start of school feels like a relief and a bit of a tragedy all at the same time.  But it started Monday and so far... three days in everyone is happy and excited about the new year.  In true Pugh fashion we had clothes laid out and lunches packed up the night before the 1st day. Everyone was ready on time and we got lots of fun pictures day 1.  Today is day three...I slept in (oops) as did Grace, lunches and breakfast happened in the last possible moments before carpool came to take the twins to middle school and I didn't even see the high school girls this morning!  Double oops!  BUT the first day I was totally dialed in an this is what it looked like!

Lucy always makes her lunch and she is soooo good at packing healthy things.

High school girls went first!  I can't believe Lucy is a FRESHMAN IN HIGH SCHOOL ( what the what?!!!) and Marian is a JUNIOR!!!

Lots of requests for photos with Darla.  Did I mention that we got another dog?  Actually I'm pretty sure the list of things I DIDN'T mention is infinite (like Jack graduated high school, got called to serve a mission in Mexico City, I helped put on girls camp for 200+ YW and leaders, etc....it's been a lot)
ANYWAY, we got a puppy.  Her name is Darla and we are all MADLY in love with her.

Those eyes!! I will NEVER get over those eyes!

Not pictured: braces!  Lucy got braces on so we don't expect any pictures with open smiles anytime soon but no amount of metal could distract from that beautiful face!!!  And Darla's too of course.

It is sooo lucky that we have a professional dog trainer in the house.

I was wrong!  Open mouthed smile right here!

Off to add so much light and joy to the high school!

Grant and Grace were next.

Grant and Grace off to MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!!!!  Craziness I tell you!
 But these kids are ready!

They are on different "teams" but I'm sooo grateful they have each other as they jump into this new, exciting and challenging phase of life!

LOVE this 6th grader so stinkin much!

Grant LOVES to have his picture taken.  Really REALLY loves it!  Can't get enough...not!  But I'm so glad he humors me and lets me take as many as I want.

Last goodbyes to the puppy then they were off!

So grateful for so many good friends...

and cousins all around!
