"I got 2 dogs" was one of my Kindergartners favorite songs when I taught music at the elementary school. You can see a video of the song HERE but basically it is a really silly song by John Lithgow about his 2 dogs and how much he loves them.
Well, I got 2 dogs and we ALL LOVE them.
Rosie is maybe still on the fence since Darla does things like sleep ON TOP OF HER in Rosie's bed. Grant threw the blanket on them because Rosie had gotten wet during their walk in the rain....I'm trying to get my kids outside more. Rain or shine. Wish me luck.
Darla is VERY good at a lot of things
She's good at taking Rosie for walks...
She's good at digging in the garden...
She's VERY good at giving the middle schoolers something to look forward to after school. Especially on Thursday's when Darla helps drive carpool.
She's good at looking ridiculous when she naps
She's good at looking ADORABLE when she naps too.
She's good at making friends with other dogs like Bear (my sister Kate's dog) who likes to face time with us often.
She's good at having the world's cutest, floppiest ears.
This was the moment Darla and Rosie first met each other. It went amazingly well.
Darla is very good at having the world's cutest puppy face...
...and looking like a Beanie Boo stuffed animal!
Darla, AKA: Dar, Dar Dar Binks, and Binksy
is also good at sit, stay, come, and shake....but she is the best at bringing a whole lot of love and happiness to our family...just like Rosie has been doing for years....
but not the 1st two years. I wouldn't change a thing, but getting a puppy when I had 2 year old twins and five kids under the age of 10 was totally CRAZY! Having a puppy with a house full of teens and tweens has been WAAAAAy easier!
p.s. Marian suggested the name Darla- from the Little Rascals.
"Dear Darla, you make me vomit. You are the scum between my toes...Love, Alfalfa"
Dolly was a close second (Dolley Madison or Dolly Parton...take your pick) but Darla won out and it suits her perfectly!
